Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) Keeps Travellers Informed of the Countries Still Currently Using the Euro

With some experts suggesting Greece is close to abandoning the Euro currency, Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) hopes to help confused travellers by providing a fully updated list of countries which are currently using the Euro. This research is available in the Know Before you Go section of the APH website.

Countries that currently use the Euro may or may not be EU members. The non-EU members, such as Andorra, Kosovo and Montenegro that have adopted the Euro have simply done so for economic ease with the most recent addition, EU country Estonia, adopting the currency in January 2011 to support its rise in profile.

In addition there are three "micro-states" in the EU which use the Euro which are Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City.

Over the past few years, the pound has fallen by more than 20% against the Euro, causing some UK visitors to choose holidays in non-Euro countries such as Croatia and Turkey in order to get more value for their pound. The full APH Euro list provides travellers with a clear and concise breakdown of which Non-EU members (i.e. Hungary, Iceland, Norway) use the Euro as well as EU members which don't use the Euro (Denmark, Sweden, UK).

Nick Caunter, Managing Director of APH says, "With all the press surrounding the Euro-zone at the moment, APH wanted to reassure people of the current situation and so we have created these tables to keep travellers up-to-date and to help them plan ahead before travelling abroad."
