Norman Foster's Leaf-Inspired Valencia Conference Centre Set to Grow

Valencia Tourism continues to celebrate its success as a leading destination for international events with the expansion of its cutting edge conference centre, designed by esteemed UK architect, Norman Foster.

The conference centre's expansion is aptly 'growing' from having one leaf shaped building to two. The architects at Foster & Partners, led by Norman Foster have also proposed a 'stem' connecting the two buildings and acting as glass passage.

Valencia Tourism's Managing Director José Salinas says, "We are extremely excited about the expansion of our conference centre - it is encouraging news for the future economy of Valencia as a city and region, which has already seen the centre generate over 700 million euros and host over 2000 events. It is a very positive step forward in what is currently a difficult economic environment".

The extension will provide an ideal setting for new events and offer a flexible open plan space over two floors. Rooms will be able to accommodate up to 2500 people with an additional 20 rooms providing multiple capacities.

The Valencia Conference Centre extension will be completed and open to delegates in 2014.
