The popular UK reality TV programme, "Shipwrecked: The Island", has returned to the Cook Islands this winter with a new team of castaways and a completely refreshed back-to-basics theme.
The reality series takes place on a remote island in the Cook Islands, situated in the world's largest lagoon Aitutaki, and follows the group over eight weeks as they battle it out to win votes each week to become the tribal leader.
Carmel Beattie, CEO of the Cook Island Tourism Corporation says; "We’re so excited to welcome Shipwrecked back to the Cook Islands. The programme offers a platform to showcase the Cook Islands’ breathtaking natural scenery and encourage visitors to explore everything that the islands have to offer, from beautiful deserted beaches to water sports and from turquoise lagoons to local delicacies such as Ika Mata."
