Crisis Management
In this day and age, more than ever before, as the threat of terrorism looms and our weather systems become more unpredictable, crisis management is a very necessary part of any PR programme. McCluskey International’s principals are able to draw on extensive previous experience in issues and crisis management. All senior members of McCluskey International have dealt with major incidents, which include:
• Maldives & Sri Lanka Recovery Programme following the tsunami on Dec 26, 2004
• Hurricane damage in the Caribbean and Florida Keys including most recently the devastating damage to the Cayman Islands by Hurricane Ivan in 2004
• 12 missing divers in the Red Sea with Longwood Holidays, subsequently found some hours later (summer 2004)
• Bombing of the Taba Hilton and the repatriation of 19 British guests, unharmed
• Legionnaires disease in Malta with one British fatality
• Chemical tanker spillage in 2000 off the Guernsey coast, threatening beaches and the island’s tourism economy
• Developing a tourism recovery strategy for Tasmania following the Port Arthur massacre and a bus crash at Cradle Mountain in which British tourists died
• Crisis media management for China Airlines following two major accidents in quick succession
• Bush fires in New South Wales, 2009
• Shark attacks in New South Wales, 2009
We work with all our clients to ensure issues planning is incorporated into a comprehensive communications campaign.
